What Type Of Hair Does Myammee Wears

poem by the author in "The Eyes of Argos"

Paestum

A magnetic attraction keeps my feet
in a summer position Enchanted ed'impotenza.

These bricks, these columns,
are still being felt
in listening carefully
voices of joy, cries of distress;
emit faint smell of sap
that smacks of blood and sweat
of people who belong to us.

I want to sleep under the moon of the Temple of Athena
illuminated by the stars of my roots.
